Understanding the difficulty in context
Work can be an important source of purpose and identity, but it can also become a major source of psychological strain. Occupational stress may overlap with anxiety, physical injury, conflict, bullying, loss of confidence or difficulties returning to work after an adverse experience.
Areas I may help with include
- occupational stress
- workplace bullying or interpersonal strain
- psychological impact of workplace injury
- workers compensation matters
- adjustment and coping
- return-to-work concerns
Assessment and treatment are individualised. The first task is to understand the nature of the difficulty, relevant history and current circumstances before deciding together on an appropriate way forward.
